Orlando MDA Tournament - 2009
The Third Watch Guys traveled to Orlando, Florida from January4th-9th, 2009. We participated in their 6th annual tournament. This was our 4th time attending.
This tournament is played by public safety teams from around the U.S. and Canada. We play to raise money for MDA.
This tournament raises a lot of money and is very successful.
Check out our last 3 trips
to Orlando

The results and the scores don't show how well we represented Maine on this trip.
Game 2 - We played Windsor Ontario to a tie and lost in a shootout. This game was our first of the tournament on the Olympic sheet (yes it makes a HUGE difference in all aspects of the game). Click here for game 2 photos.
Game 3 - we played like the score. The team was very flat and we earned the loss. This game was also on the BIG ICE. Click here for game 3 photos.
Game 4 - was played for the pride - we came out early and got a 2 goal lead. the game went back and forth to a tie score. With 1 minute left in the game (down 5-4). We went on the power play and pulled the goalie. The last goal was scored with about 7 seconds left.. A note - the goal tender that played against us, is the A goalie for the Team Florida Team - Click here for game 4 photos.
We left the ice with the thought that we played a 1-1-2 series. The skating was very fast and we stepped up to another level.
We would like to thank a few guys that helped us out from Orlando - Our outstanding goal tender - Ron Chamberlain, Defensman - Mark Pilla and Forward - Dante Farina.
Our Old Time Hockey Award went to Nate Snyder - for an incredible tournament (3 goals, multiple assists and great for-checking)
